What is VoIP?
Voice over Internet Protocol. The technology used to transmit voice conversations over a data network using the Internet Protocol. Such data network may be the Internet or a corporate Intranet.
Where can I use it?
You can use the service any where you have a high speed internet connection. You make connect using a Wireless IP phone, your computer-laptop or your ATA box.
What is an ATA Box?
The ATA ( SPA-2100 )box connects existing analog telephones, fax machines, PBX and key system communication platforms. The SPA-2100 includes an Ethernet interface for connecting to a home or office PC (LAN) as well as an Ethernet connection to the broadband modem or router (WAN).
What are the advantages over regular telephone lines?
In general phone service via VOIP costs less than equivalent service from traditional sources. This is largely a function of traditional phone services either being monopolies or government entities. There are also some cost savings due to using a single network to carry voice and data.
How does long distance work?
Long distance works the same as it does with your regular phone company. With Airweb you get 500 minutes of free calling in Canada and the USA. All other countries are billed at extremely low rates.
Do I have to get a VoIP phone?
No, the ATA box with allow you to use a regular analog phone. We can also put a soft phone on your computer.
I have a WiFi enabled PDA can that be made into a phone?
We can turn almost any WiFi enabled PDA
into a phone using a soft phone.
